Sometimes a fitting looks right, screws in a couple of turns and still leaks the moment you turn the water on. The problem might not be the fitting at all. It could be the thread.

Many caravans, RVs and boats in Australia are fitted with American-style water inlets using ¾" GHT (Garden Hose Thread) or compatible US-style threads, rather than the BSP threads commonly found on Australian plumbing and hose fittings. Because the threads can look very similar, it's easy to mistakenly connect a ¾" BSP fitting only to discover it doesn't seal correctly under pressure.

Do I Need This Adaptor?

Check the water inlet on your caravan, RV or boat before purchasing.

If it uses an American-style ¾" water inlet rather than an Australian BSP connection, this adaptor provides the transition required to connect compatible Australian-style fittings.

This distinction is important because a ¾" BSP fitting can appear to be the correct size and may even begin threading into some US-style inlets. That doesn't mean the threads are compatible, and forcing a mismatched fitting can result in a poor seal or damage.
